The Temora Kangaroos Football Netball Club’s netballers won two premierships last Saturday in this season’s Farrer League Grand Finals at Robertson Oval, Wagga. The A Grade Kangaroos defeated Marrar 45-37 to be crowned premiers, while the Under 17s Temora Kangaroos defeated The Rock Yerong Creek 36-in their premiership decider. The Kangaroos wing attack player, Darcie Manning, was named Best on Court for the A Grade Grand Final, while Ava Derrick was Best on Court in the Under 17 game. The win was more poignant as the Kangaroos A Grade team has sustained back-to-back exits in the finals series since their premiership win three years ago. Ava Derrick walked away with three medals on the day as she also played a pivotal role in the A grade team’s premiership win. The A Grade team opened up a handy lead early in the second half, which gave them a buffer to go on and grab Grand Final glory. Many of the netballers said it was the support of the fans in blue and white in the crowd that “got them over the line”.
