The highlight of the Temora Motorcycle Club’s racing calendar will return to Woodlands Speedway on Sunday with the 2026 edition of the Dennis Wilesmith Memorial Postie Challenge. One of the club’s most entertaining big days promises another full day of hard-fought and entertaining racing, with riders taking on gruelling lap counts aboard motorcycles that have little in common with the humble Honda CT110 postie bike. It will feature a men’s 100-lap event, a junior and women’s 60-lap event, as well as the Americana and shoot-out competitions. Tagged the Postie Challenge, the race conjures up the idea of low-powered two-wheelers carrying a sack of mail, however that couldn’t be further from the truth. The machines lining up on Sunday will be a very different breed. Riders will take on the gruelling challenge racing on motorcycles that have been modified, tinkered with, tweaked, thrashed and built to withstand the punishment of 100 laps. When there are a bunch of these machines with riders racing around 100 laps, not all make it to the finish. With a field of highly competitive riders battling shoulder-to-shoulder for lap after lap, making it to the chequered flag is not guaranteed. The motorcycles will have to be fine-tuned to last throughout the taxing event, but some will inevitably limp across the finish line. The event will feature free entry for spectators. They will have the opportunity to participate in a Pit Walk Through at lunchtime. There will be a full canteen, a coffee van and Postie Bike Challenge merchandise available on the day.
