The Rotary Club of Temora was the recipient of a community grant from the Commonwealth Bank of Australia last Thursday, 4 June. Temora Rotary Club members Keith Anderson and Sue King were on hand to accept the donation from bank manager Airlia Dean and Temora’s full-time bank staff Carissa Oakley and Tess Andrews. Mr Anderson, who is the club treasurer, said that the club was very pleased to receive the donation of $1500 and the distribution of the funds in the community will be discussed at the club’s next board meeting. “We are not sure if it will go to a specific program such as Can Assist or the Temora District Education Fund, we might spread it around to several community groups,” he said. Ms Dean said that the branch staff nominated the Rotary Club as a thank you for everything they do for the community. “The grant is awarded to a community organisation that the staff feel is making a big impact and doing great work within the community,” Ms Dean said. “Each branch is able to nominate an organisation within their area. “The program is targeted towards regional communities. “We recently gave a scam talk to the Rotary Club and we were so impressed with how passionate the members are about Temora, so we thought this was the perfect group for the first of these awards.”
