This long weekend the annual Coolamon Fire Engine Muster will showcase the history of not only the Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) but celebrate all emergency services. Getting underway at 10am on Sunday 4 October the main street of Coolamon, Cowabbie Street will be blocked off and come alive with, stalls, entertainment, vintage cars, emergency vehicles and of course fire engines from across the ages. Now in its 11th year the free event is organised by Coolamon Emergency Services and supported by the Coolamon Fire Museum, the Muster has become a much-loved annual event, attracting visitors from across the Riverina and beyond. Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke is encouraging locals to make the most of the October long weekend by getting along to one of the many community events taking place across the electorate, including the popular Coolamon Fire Engine Muster. “The Coolamon Fire Engine Muster is one of those special events that brings communities together while celebrating our history and the incredible work of our emergency services volunteers and personnel,” Ms Cooke said. “There is something for everyone, from historic fire engines and classic vehicles to interactive displays and activities for families. “It’s a great day out for the whole community and a wonderful opportunity to recognise and thank the dedicated emergency services personnel who work tirelessly to protect and support communities across the Cootamundra electorate.” There will be an impressive collection of fire engines, classic vehicles and bikes, while enjoying educational exhibits, emergency services demonstrations and plenty of family-friendly entertainment. A highlight of the day will be the Firefighters Fun Relay, where teams of four can put their skills to the test in a fun and friendly competition. Visitors will also have the opportunity to get a closer look at the work of emergency services organisations, with displays from Fire and Rescue NSW, the Rural Fire Service and other emergency services. Everyone is welcome to come along, enjoy the festivities and show their support for the dedicated volunteers and emergency services personnel who help keep local communities safe.
