Temora Local Health Advisory Committee (LHAC) welcomed back an old friend last week, Monday 1 June when they held an afternoon tea to honour the career of former the Chief Executive of Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD), Mrs Jill Ludford. Ms Ludford led the MLHD for 11 years before her retirement on 13 February, she had a career spanning 30 years in the health sector. Held during the June meeting of the LHAC, Ms Ludford was presented with a Temora Shire gift pack on behalf of the members of the committee by chairman and Temora Shire Council Mayor, Rick Firman. “Our community owe a debt of profound gratitude to Mrs Ludford for all she has done for the Murrumbidgee region, but especially what she’s done for our Temora Shire community, Cr Firman said. “She oozes integrity and decency and all of us wish her a happy retirement’, he said. Ms Ludford reflected on the journey to have the $95 million Temora District Hospital redevelopment and the valued friendships she has made in the Temora Shire and on the Temora LHAC. She was full of praise for the staff at Temora Distric Hospital and the hospital manager Wendy Skidmore. The MLHD is now headed up by new CEO Emma Field.
