Kris Dunstan was recently awarded the Temora and District Sports Council (TDSC) Lifetime Achievement Award for his service to sport in the Temora Shire. He has been involved with the Temora Rugby Union Club since moving from Young in 1998, including playing more than 200 games for the club and still participates in charity matches. Mr Dunstan also takes a leading role in club administration, taking on roles such as the long-serving treasurer for both the senior and junior clubs. He also manages day-to-day club management operations including kiosk supplies, cleaning, rosters, uniforms, social media, transport, and representation at meetings. Working alongside Terry O’Rafferty and Jason Goode -Committee member leading presentation days, reunions, and gala events. Mr Dunstan is an active member of the coaching staff taking on senior and junior coaching responsibilities taking in the 2016 Women’s Sevens Premiership coach, inaugural Women’s XVs team (2000) coach, 2026 Men’s XVs co-coach Junior coach for his children’s teams Central West Rugby Union Board Member His involvement in major fundraising initiatives has resulted in more than $100,000 across 10 years being raised for charity raised by the club. Improving facilities at the club has also been a focus being at the forefront of infrastructure improvements including ground lighting replacement, electronic scoreboard, women’s dressing shed, clubhouse redevelopment and current gym facility grant application. He demonstrates exceptional lifelong commitment to rugby union through sustained leadership, service, and impact at club, regional, and community levels. Mr Dunstan has strengthened the Temora Rugby Union Club’s sustainability, inclusivity, and reputation while supporting broader regional rugby. His hands-on dedication, often across multiple roles simultaneously, combined with his passion for developing players and fostering community connection make him an ideal candidate for the Lifetime Achievement Award.
