It has been a busy time over the last week for first responders in and around the Temora district and surrounds. Starting at 7.30am last Thursday morning 18 June when Temora Fire and Rescue (FRNSW) crews responded to a caravan fire in Gallipoli Street Temora with reports that a person may be trapped inside and the possibility of endangering a nearby structure. The blaze was well alight when fire crews arrived, and Temora FRNSW were joined by brigades from Coolamon and Cootamundra. Crews took around 30 minutes to extinguish the fire, and it was confirmed no one was inside. Crews were well supported by Temora Police and Ambulance. Temora FRNSW Captain, Mark Cooper said that it was a timely reminder for all caravan owners to ensure they have a working smoke alarm in their van. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
