The Temora Garden Club held their first meeting of the year at the Temora Ex-services Club. President Pauline Itch gave the members details of the coming events organised for the members and as usual very busy and interesting and informative meetings will be held. After the meeting the opportunity was taken to present a cheque for $1000 to Lyn Hegarty and Karen Baldwin representing Can Assist with a cheque, Lyn gave a short talk on how the money will be used for the local people who are suffering from cancer and how thankful the Can Assist Committees are to the Temora Garden Club for the support they have given them over the last few years. The March meeting was held in the beautiful garden of Glenda and Merv Brill commencing at 5 pm to be followed by barbecue tea, it was a lovely March evening, and the gardens and lawns were at their best thanks to the hard of Glenda and Merv. During the meeting best wishes was extended o Betty Brabin who celebrated her 90th Birthday on the Friday prior to the meeting. After the meeting we were treated to a delightful barbecue with many salads followed by delicious sweets. Bev Sinclair was our hostess for the April meeting, and the members had an enjoyable time looking at her reasonably new garden featuring a Silver Princess Eucalypt in her front lawn, Bev and her family have done an amazing job designing and building this garden which although only very new looks so mature. May saw our members welcomed to the home and beautiful garden of Robyn Steinhardt. Although we have visited this garden before it was amazing how everything had grown and thrived over the years, after our meeting and usual delicious afternoon tea we just had time for a walk around before the storm hit. June will be our Annual General Meeting which will be held at the Ex-services Club at 2 pm as in most Annual General Meetings elections will be held for office bearers and committee members so give some thought to taking a position so that The Temora Garden Club continue to go from strength to strength.
