Kids art workshops for school holidays Budding young artists with a love of animals and creativity will soon have the chance to bring their ideas to life during a special school holiday workshop at the Temora Shire Library. The Canola Kids Art Club will host the Colourful Creatures Animal Sculpture Workshop with artist Sarah MacMahon on Friday 10 July from 10.30am to 12.30pm. The two-hour workshop, designed for children aged eight years and over, will introduce participants to the art of sculpture, with each child creating their own colourful animal to take home. Drawing on her training in sculpture at the National Art School, Sarah will teach techniques used by professional sculptors to transform ideas into three-dimensional creations. Participants will learn how wire armatures provide the foundation for sculptures, before watching a demonstration of armature-building techniques. They will then use a pre-made armature and build and shape their own animal sculpture with colourful air-dry clay, adding textures, patterns and individual details to make each creation unique. A drink and snack will be provided during the session. Places are limited and bookings are essential. Parents and carers are encouraged to contact the Canola Kids Art Club Facebook page to reserve a place.
