Temora Showground Poultry Pavillion will be the venue for a poultry auction Helmsman-style sale on Saturday 10 October. A Helmsman poultry auction is a silent-style auction method used by poultry clubs where buyers write their bids on cards attached to bird pens during a set time frame. All furry friends are welcome (rabbits, guinea pigs, ducks, turkeys, parrots etc). Gates will open at 7.30am. Penning will close at 9.30am and the biding will start at 10am and will run for one hour. The cost will be $2 for a buyer’s number and $5 per pen, with a maximum of three birds per pen. It will be a cash-only sale and no chook boxes will be available on the day, so ensure you bring your own if you plan to buy any birds. Please bring small denominations of your own pens or pencils. There will be corn and other grains for sale on the day. Tea and coffee and a sausage sizzle will be available at the auction. All birds must be booked in by Friday 9 October.
