There is a new face at South West Ford Temora with Michael Schilt joining the sales and finance team three days a week. Mr Schilt brings with him a long history of experience in the motor industry as well as retail knowledge, with his most recent position at Riverina Ford at Cootamundra. He moved to Temora in 1980 when he was working for the railways and has maintained a home in the town ever since, despite times when he has had to work in other locations. Mr Schilt said that he ran the Holden Dealership in Temora when it was still operational, he has also worked at Sydney dealerships and has always enjoyed working in roles where he feels he is helping people. This has also included stints in corrective services, probation and parole. “I’m very much a people person, I like people,” he said. “When I first started in the motoring game, I was mentored and taught by a man that insisted on honesty at all costs. “That theme has run right through my working career, you need to be upfront and 100 per cent honest with people, it’s the best way to be. “Sales is a hard enough game. Tell lies and you get nowhere.”
