On Sunday, 18 October, the Temora High School (THS) Parents and Citizens association hosted their second annual fun run: The Rural Runabout. Over 65 runners participated this year, which was an increase on last year's numbers. Participants chose to walk, jog or run distances of five kilometres, 10 kilometres or 21.1 kilometres around Lake Centenary and the nearby FarmLink paddocks. It was a beautiful spring morning, and it was wonderful to see the school and broader Temora community come together to support the event. The organisers were fortunate to have fantastic support from Temora High School staff and members of the local community, who generously helped with the preparations and the running of the event on the day. The Rural Runabout is a great opportunity to bring the Temora community together while promoting health, wellbeing and active participation. The generosity of local businesses has enabled the THS P and C to grow the event and support opportunities for the students at Temora High School. The P and C sincerely thank the following local businesses for their generous support through donations and prizes for the 2026 Rural Runabout: Gold Sponsor - South West Slopes Credit Union; Silver Sponsors – Altora Ag, Hutcheon and Pearce and the Shamrock Hotel; Bronze Sponsor – Miller and James Real Estate; Espresso House, Goldenfields Water, Rick Firman’s Menswear, Temora Aviation Museum and Temora Capital Chemist. The THS P and C are looking forward to the next Rural Runabout in October 2027 and would love to see you there.
