Movie magic hits the Town Hall

Motion Arts Temora is preparing to welcome the return of accomplished musician and musical director Marie-Cecile Henderson for a special afternoon of entertainment celebrating some of the most memorable music from the silver screen. The ‘Music from Films’ concert will be held at the Temora Town Hall on Sunday 18 October, commencing at 2pm. The concert will feature Marie-Cecile Henderson alongside the Songbirds of Belconnen and a talented collection of vocal soloists, presenting a program of beloved songs associated with cinema. For Temora audiences, Marie-Cecile is certainly no stranger. Her previous visits have included the popular ‘Music from the Wartime Era’ concerts, presented by Motion Arts during the last two Warbirds Downunder events. More recently, she returned to Temora in 2025 with a jazz concert, just weeks after performing at the Merimbula Jazz Festival. This year's concert will also feature a familiar local face, with Temora resident and Motion Arts member Scott Hayman joining the performers. A long-time student, Scott's began singing lessons with Marie-Cecile when Motion Arts put on their first production of Hello, Dolly 10 years ago. This concert promises a delightful journey through familiar melodies, from timeless classics to much-loved musical favourites, performed by an ensemble of dedicated singers who share a passion for bringing music to life. Motion Arts Temora is delighted to continue providing opportunities for regional audiences to enjoy quality live entertainment, while strengthening the town's connection with accomplished visiting performers. Following the performance, audience members are invited to enjoy a traditional afternoon tea of sandwiches and cakes, included in the ticket price.
